ADRIAN HESKIN enjoyed a dream start in his new role as stable jockey to trainer Slad trainer Tom George as Kilbree Kid claimed a fourth Perth victory in the Lord Mansfield Memorial Handicap Chase on Wednesday.

Heskin, 24, succeeds Paddy Brennan as first jockey to George.

It is six years since Heskin burst on to the scene as a professional, riding his first Cheltenham Festival winner on his first ride at the showpiece meeting aboard A New Story in the 2010 Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase.

The following month he landed the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown on Church Island as a 7lb claimer, just days after his 18th birthday.

Heskin has ridden nearly 200 winners in Britain and Ireland, enjoying further big-race success on Martello Tower in last year's Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

Heskin, who has moved from Ireland, teamed up with George for the first time in Scotland.

George said: "That's the perfect start and hopefully shows we've made the right choice, which we believe we have.

"Paddy Brennan and I have had some big days together over the past seasons and I very much hope to be able to give him more winning rides in the future."
