ASHLEY Thomas had the surprise of his life when he bumped into football legend Steven Gerrard in a coffee queue at Los Angeles International Airport.
Thomas, a former Shortwood United captain, is now a personal trainer across the pond, had just touched down in LA after visiting family and friends in Stroud.
Gerrard, who now stars for LA Galaxy was waiting for his family to arrive from England, when Thomas spotted the star.
Thomas, who is an Arsenal fan and saw Gerrard make his LA Galaxy debut, was overwhelmed how relaxed the ex-England and Liverpool captain appeared when they chatted over a coffee.
Thomas said: "He's just a real gentleman. We spoke about Liverpool and England and life in LA. It was really refreshing to know he's so genuine."
And Thomas revealed how much Gerrard loves the way Liverpool are performing under Jurgen Klopp.
He added: Stevie said he loved Klopp and how Liverpool are playing and he loves life in California."
