STROUD-BASED Hereford FC manager Pete Beadle has signed his first contract with the club.

The 12-month rolling deal was penned late last night.

"We agreed as a board to make an offer to Peter several months ago, but we’ve all been quite relaxed on the process so it’s not been done in a couple of weeks," said Hereford FC football director Martin Watson.

“The success of the club in the first season was far beyond what anyone could have wished for 18 months ago.

"Peter has been a central figure to that, and it is deserved that he is rewarded for his efforts.”

Beadle added: “I’m delighted to confirm my commitment to the club.

"I firmly believe that the journey has still only just begun and that we have a lengthy story still to tell.

“The board have been incredibly supportive of my efforts and we are all keen to push on again this season.”

Chairman Jon Hale also expressed his delight with the news.

“Peter has, from day one, demonstrated his abilities, experience and man management to bring about the very best for Hereford FC and we have been very keen to reward that with the security of a contract," he said.

“His ability to bring the best out of players, identify and recruit players to improve the squad and to make hard decisions when needed have been instrumental in our success to date, and we are pleased to make formal his employment with the club.”
