MINDFUL of Forest Green’s implosion against Lincoln City, Forest Green boss Mark Cooper is contemplating changes for the visit of third-placed Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

The league leaders looked set to go 12 points clear at the top, but instead threw a 2-0 lead in the bin as Lincoln sensationally ended Rovers’ 11-game unbeaten run with goals in the 89th and 90th- minutes, which sent the Nailsworth side tumbling to their first defeat on home soil this season.

Cooper berated his shell-shocked side after the match, but is demanding a reaction on Tuesday night against a Tranmere side, who are now six points behind Rovers.

Cooper said: “Hopefully the Lincoln result refocuses us and shows the players that they're not as good as maybe they thought they were.

“We have to be ready and professional and I have to pick a team that I think can beat Tranmere. You would say we got it spot on today, 2-0 up with not long left to play, but maybe we will shake it up on Tuesday.”

Drissa Traore and Dale Bennett will be pushing for starts and Fabien Robert (ankle) should come into contention.

Meanwhile, all-time Forest Green Conference top scorer James Norwoood returns to the Tranmere squad after serving a two-game suspension. Micky Mellon’s side will also include former Forest Green striker Andy Mangan.
