EVERGREEN Arlingham striker Steve Davis still has the scoring touch.

The veteran 37-year-old hit-man recently passed his 200th goal for the club - stepping-off the bench to bag a brace in the 10-0 victory over Coaley Rovers - moving his tally to 201 and counting - in more than 20 years of pulling on his shooting boots.

“I have played roughly 250- 260 games for Arlingham and have scored over 300 goals in total with spells at Alkerton and Quedgeley,” said the Eastington-based star striker, who is a lorry driver for Profit Access in Bristol.

Despite his striking prowess, Davis, is now a super-sub and hit the winner at the weekend in a 3-2 win against Cotswold Rangers to push the Stroud League Division Three outfit up to sixth.

He added: “To be honest the goals have dried up in the last few years and my knees give me a lot of problems, but I just can’t give the game up.”
