STONEHOUSE Town remain top of the table after a comprehensive victory over Gala Wilton.

However, Gala’s Kyle Bakewell’s shot was well saved by home keeper Will Pedrick, and just before the break Bakewell was again on target, but his header was not strong enough to beat Pedrick.

Gala lost Craig Howell with a straight red after he was adjudged to have elbowed a Stonehouse player. A few minutes later the home side scored a second when Andy Maryon turned and shot into the roof of the net.

The home side wrapped the game up in the 87th- minute when Liam Gale broke down the left was brought down in the box, but the referee played the advantage and Williams slipped the ball to Maryon to net his second of the game.

Stonehouse travel to Patchway Town on Saturday.
