Bluefin Sports Hellenic Challenge Cup Brimscombe.................................... 4
Chalvey Sports............................... 0
BRIMSCOMBE are on course for three trophies this season as they reached the quarter-finals of the Bluefin Sports Hellenic Challenge Cup, writes Scott Boulton.
Sam Prior’s side beat Division Two East Chalvey Sports 4-0 thanks to goals from Ash Caldwell, Sam Blackie, Kyle Pitts and Ben Prictor.
Earlier, Brimscombe’s Lewis Skyers pulled off a great save as Chalvey started brightly.
Brimscombe responded with Ollie Pitt seeing his strike saved by Lee Bennett.
The first goal of the afternoon came when Caldwell intercepted a Chalvey pass before lobbing Bennett from 40yards out.
Brimscombe were unlucky not to double their lead with two chances in quick succession - Jack Smith’s overhead kick clipping the crossbar, before Pitt missed a header from six yards out.
Brimscombe extended their lead when Sam Blackie was in the right place to follow up a Pitt shot.
Brimscombe added a third through Pitts, who knocked the ball past his covering defender and calmly slotted under the Chalvey goalkeeper.
The Lilywhites still wanted more, Prictor ran into the box before slotting home at a tight angle.
Brimscombe travel to Burnham on Saturday.
