ARROWSMAN Aaron Dyer is aiming his darts in the right direction after a bullseye winning weekend on the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour.

Dyer, 24, who plays for Stroud Conservative Club, claimed his second PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour win of the weekend in Event Four on Sunday, landing a £2,000 title at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.

Dyer made a winning debut on the Challenge Tour when he took victory in Event One on Saturday, and picked up the top prize 24 hours later to round off the first of five weekends on the PDC's second-tier tour this year.

Having been eliminated in the first round of Event Three, Dyer regrouped for the day's second tournament, where he whitewashed Shane Reidy, defeated Bryan De Hoog 5-1 and then edged out Ian Moss and Lee Evans in a deciding leg.

In the quarter-finals, he overcame Craig Gilchrist for the loss of just one leg, defeated Dan Read 5-2 in the semi-finals and repeated the scoreline in the final against Wilson.

Dyer said: "I feel the weekend went really well for myself, lucky in some games, where I faced match darts against me, but I beat some very good players all weekend."

Dyer, who works for Gloucester Council as a waste operative and is backed by Matt Kerry of Kerry Maintenance, is hoping his form will gain him a place in the professional game.

He added: "I started playing at 14 and practice every other day, I would like to turn pro and I feel this is the start of things to come."

The next PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour weekend for Dyer will take place at the Barnsley Metrodome on April 15-16, with a further four tournaments, each worth £10,000 in prize money, being held.
