MINCHINHAMPTON RFC U12 Rams ended their 2016-17 County Cup campaign unbeaten.
On a warm spring morning at Hollybush the team of Jack Ordway-Hughes, Charlie Mead, Ioan Jones, Taner Alpan, Jonny McLaughlan, Wilf Mylechreest, Archie Powis, James Harwanko, Jacob Lee, Mackenzie Smith, Jake Spain and Sam Grimsted beat visitors Cleve convincingly 8 tries to 2.
Meanwhile after the withdrawal of their Cup opponents, the Tups team of Luke Moffatt, Jonty O’Leary, Ollie Wood, Ben Blosset, Alex Willday, Cameron Blaxill, Tomas Pressey, Rohaan Kayum, Liam Morgan, Theo Crabb-Lahei, Josh Webb and Tom Smith fought well against a strong Stroud team in a hastily-arranged friendly.
Interception tries by O’Leary and Blaxill and a characteristic short-range effort by Morgan kept the scores level well into the second half before three late Stroud tries gave them the win.
