GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club have appointed Marie Journeaux as the club president for 2017-2019.
At this year’s Annual General Meeting, held at the Brightside Ground, Bristol, last Thursday, Mrs Marie Journeaux was elected as the first woman to hold the President post in the club’s 147-year history. She succeeds Rex Body.
Journeaux was born in St Andrews, Bristol and was educated in Clifton. She has been associated with the County Club since 1977.
Journeaux said: “I am delighted to have been asked to serve as the club’s president and I thank the Executive Board most sincerely for bestowing this honour upon me."
Club chairman, Roger Cooke added: “I am delighted that Marie has become the president. It is an honour which she deserves.”
