Back to hockey sessions are being run at Stratford Park Leisure Centre.
Stroud Hockey Club are inviting players to take part from Tuesday, May 16 up to June 13, 7pm until 8pm.
There will be a qualified coach leading the session with lots of willing volunteers to help you find your feet. You will need to bring along a bottle of water, wear training shoes and loose clothing – the club provide sticks and balls.
Stroud Hockey Club vice -chair Victoria Sharpe said: “We are delighted to be involved in England Hockey’s ‘Back to Hockey’ initiative. We took part in the scheme last year and as a result Stroud Hockey Club has started a 3rd ladies’ team, many of its members came ‘Back to Hockey’ with us last year.
"Stroud Hockey Club welcomes players across a wide age range, many of whom were nervous about joining the club after a number of years without picking up a hockey stick. They were glad they took that first step and have never looked back, so do come along and give it a try; there is no cost and lots to gain.”
