EVERGREEN Richard Searle, a member of Stroud Masters Swimming Club, grabbed triathlon age-group gold at Roundhay Park, Leeds.
Searle, who runs under the guidance of Chris Frapwell and Gordon Russell, took part in the Columbia Threadneedle Multisport weekend, which hosted the ITU’s UK leg of the World Triathlon Series.
Competing in the GB Aquathon championships, which consisted of a 750m swim in Waterloo lake and two 2.5km run laps of the undulating parkland, he finished 13th overall and won the 50-54 age group in 34 minutes and 0.5 seconds.
