A STUNNING Ross Martin ton capped a fantastic weekend for Frocester.

Nick Trainor's side posted a stunning seven-wicket victory over Downend in Premier One and a massive 172 win over Tewkesbury in the County Cup.

The highlight of the victory over Downend was a whirlwind century by Ross Martin, smashed from only 47 deliveries. He struck 17 fours and four sixes in his innings of 101.

Earlier, Downend had made a respectable total of 290-7, with Gloucestershire star, Ian Cockbain, scoring 80. Martin was also the pick of the bowlers taking 3-53, although Tom Drake bowled his 10 overs for a miserly 25 runs.

Then came the fireworks from Martin and with great support from Tom Wand, who scored 26, they took the total to 180-2, when Martin was bowled by Cockbain.

When Wand fell at 206-3, Louis Gegg with 70 not out and Trainor with 48 not out, took Frocester to victory with 8.3 overs to spare.

On Sunday, Frocester travelled to Tewkesbury with a team full of young first and second team players.

Fin Dixon led the way with a superb innings of 110, which included 12 fours and two sixes. Tom Wand chipped in with 31 and Louis Gegg pressed the accelerator with 57 from 27 deliveries, including seven fours and three sixes. Frocester reached an imposing total of 260-7 in 45 overs.

In reply, Tewkesbury were dismissed for 88 in 30 overs, with Angus Gegg, Richie Cave, Chad Trainor and Mark Glew each taking two wickets.
