SHORTWOOD United player-assistant manager Will Morford has re-joined Gloucester City.

Morford, who scored 18 goals for the Nailsworth side and was due to continue his role as assistant to new boss Paul Meredith.

Club president Richard Webb said. “ Will has got a new job with the FA on the coaching side and a return to his former club is a tribute to his fine season and his ability as a coach.

"Obviously everyone at the club wishes Will all the best with his new job and every success at City and he is assured of a warm welcome at Meadowbank.”

Morford is the latest player to depart Meadowbank and joins Matt Bennett, Nick Peare, Andy Lewis, Nick Weeks and Steve Davies, who all left last month.

Shortwood are set to make an announcement on a new assistant manager.
