WHITMINSTER are in trouble at the bottom of the Gloucestershire County League Division Seven after going down to defeat against Tormarton in a thrilling finish.

Tormarton made 172 all out from 42.1 overs with Jim Fannon, their skipper, hitting 47 and Ben Cousins scoring a half-century.

Joe McGoldrick was the main wicket-taker for Whitminster with 3-15 from eight overs, with Graham Toms and Lee Medcroft both taking two wickets.

In reply, Whitminster struggled at the start but Pars Ghadiali was the rock of the innings, hitting 43 with good contributions from Toms, McGoldrick, Nick Jones and Dave Chandler but they fell six runs short on 166 all out.

With four teams going down from the division this season, Whitminster are now 15 points away from safety in bottom but one spot with the safety spot currently occupied by Tormarton.
