THE Carpenters Arms pub in Westrip is backing Rodborough and Cainscross Old Boys for a sixth season.

Sponsor Steve Poulter is delighted to back the Stroud League club and see his pub carry their name across the shirts, he said: “This club has grown and developed since it was re-formed in 2011, and the outstanding performances of the teams have made it easy for me to continue to do what I can to help the club on its journey.”

Chairman, Stuart Thompson is delighted to see the sponsorship continue, he added: “The Carpenters Arms is a huge part of our success story. Our second team also gained promotion to Division Five last season and we have a fantastic third team set-up too (competing in Div 7) for our youth players (and some slightly older ones) to get a foothold in senior football, and hopefully progress through the teams. We’re an ambitious club, and we thank Steve and all his staff for their ongoing support”.

Manager McNally added: “Our first team has climbed from its original position in Stroud League Division Eight in 2011 to Division Two this season, and the players take huge credit for that. We’re always searching for new talent, and would be delighted to see any interested players at our regular weekly training sessions, Monday and Wednesday evenings 8pm-9pm at Archway School fields.”
