STROUD AC triathlete Vicky Price has qualified for the ITU World Sprint Triathlon age group championships in Rotterdam, but now needs financial sponsorship to help make the trip.

Travel costs will be in excess of £1000 and any business or indvidual can contact Vicky here.

All official sponsors logos will be printed on her GB tracksuit. She currently is an ambassador for Five Valleys Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic and part of the Everyone Active sporting champions scheme.

The 17-year-old booked her place at the championships in September following an eye-catching display in the world qualifier at the sea triathlon in Wales, which compromised of a 750m sea swim, 20km cycle around the Great Orme, Llandudno and a 5km run along the promenade.

This was her first sprint distance triathlon, after having only competed at super sprint level.

The Ribston Hall High School student swam through the choppy water and came out of the swim in third-place overall and first in her age group. She worked hard on the cycle, which consisted of two laps each, with a sharp climb and steep descent.

She started off the run cautiously, as she was unsure what pace to go at, before picking it up at the turn around point, when she saw an athlete in her age group not far behind.

Vicky crossed the line in first in her age group and 13th overall.

Vicky also trains with Severnside Tritons Swimming Club and Bristol Cycling Development squad and has strength and conditioning with Jan Keller.
