CENTURION Rachel Priest admitted she had ‘a lot of luck’ but was pleased to help Western Storm to a record-breaking victory at York on Sunday against Yorkshire Diamonds in the Kia Super League.

The home team scored 160-7 in their innings but their bowlers were no match for Priest and Storm skipper Heather Knight as the openers cut the Diamonds apart for a ten-wicket victory.

Priest scored 106 as she thrashed 14 boundaries and three sixes in 65 balls, while Knight struck 48 not out with a six and three hits to the ropes.

In all, the Storm target was reached in just an hour and six minutes, and afterwards Priest said: "It was one of those days that you wish you had all the time. It was nice to contribute.

"Not losing a wicket is pretty special, and it was nice for both me and Heather to lead from the front.

"We talked about this being a really big game for us. We needed to have a good win here and look towards the finals, although we have a couple of really important games coming up in the next week.

"We'll just try and keep winning.

"I had a lot of luck. The pitch was very good, as they showed in their innings. But they bowled some slower balls which made it difficult for me to get going. I had the luck, and a few just seemed to land in the middle of fielders."
