Stonehouse Town boss Alex Lumsden insists the penalty shoot-out win over Ruardean was a huge confidence booster.

"Last week the penalty shoot-out win over Ruardean has given us a big boost, because we showed strength in our character to fight back," said Lumsden.

"Some of the boys have been low on confidence, but the last two weeks have seen a big improvement on our togetherness. Conceding one literally before half-time was frustrating, and to go 0-2 a minute into the second-half was also not what we needed, but we didn't look like giving up whatsoever.

"Obviously the red card for them helped us, you need that little bit of luck in football. But we're working hard at the minute, and when your luck is in those things go your way. I'm starting to see the excitement come back into the team, and we'll want to go to Gala and win of course.

"We've got a team social in the evening so it could turn out to be a good day for us all.

"Kinger (Elliot King) did a superb job for us in midfield on Saturday. We set him a little task and he stuck to it, with the support of his team-mates who were all out on their feet come the end of the game, it was a very hot.

"We were all pleased to see Barny open his account as well as I know that was eating away at him. He's worked so hard since he's come in, so we're both hoping that's the first of many.

"Today we welcome back Andy Maryon who has been travelling in Australia for three months, and vice-captain Jon Brodie, and Brad Moore. Adam Clark will also be in goal for us.

"Toby Gardiner has re-signed for the club. He's a very hard working centre midfield player with a bubbly character, and he's eager to learn so it's great to see him back. Took some time away travelling."
