FOREST GREEN manager Mark Cooper was left to rue one mistake as his side fell to a fourth straight defeat.
Rovers had more than matched their old non-league foes Lincoln City, but were undone when a moment of hesitation allowed Harry Anderson to nip in between Dale Bennett and goalkeeper Brad Collins.
Cooper said: "We were gritty, dogged and determined. We changed it up to 4-4-2 and tried to get the ball forward more quickly. One mistake has turned the game, but I cannot fault their effort and application the players showed in awful conditions.
"Lincoln are a physical team and we stood up to that really well. I thought we matched them and were just looking for that bit of quality in the final third. We had a few chances but, tonight, were unable to quite take them."
Rovers now look ahead to a trip to bottom of the table Port Vale on Saturday, with Cooper in a positive mindset.
"It's disappointing to lose again because of a mistake, but we go to Port Vale next and if we play with the same determination, we'll be all right."
