Dale Bennett is taking 'each game as it comes’.

Wins at Coventry City and Stevenage have left Forest Green in rude health as Mark Cooper's side get ready to face Morecambe at The New Lawn on Saturday.

“No one wants to get ahead of themselves, we just take each game as it comes," said Bennett.

“It’s two good results and two good performances that we want to take into the next game.

“We know we have got good players, we have been performing well but things have not been on our side,” he said.

“I think the last two results are massive for us. It’s given us confidence, it shows, in one of the games, that we can keep a clean sheet and we were unlucky to concede against Stevenage, we thought it was offside.

“When you’re down there things like that go against you but I think the boys played really well and it sets it up perfectly for the weekend.

“The spirit in the squad has always been there and I feel like it is easy for everyone to say that it is not there when things are not going well,”

“You could see last weekend the way we celebrated when we scored, the relief the belief that everyone still has and I think we are in a good place.

“The results previously have not been there for us but hopefully it’s a turning point for us now."

Rovers have only won one League Two home game this season, a 4-3 victory over Yeovil Town back in August. And despite improving on the road, Rovers have endured a wretched five-game losing sequence on home soil, including a 4-0 collapse against Newport County in their previous home game.

“We know we need to start performing at home, we need the fans to get behind us like they usually do and hopefully we can do it.

“It comes down to three points at the end of the day and it still is early in the season.

“We know how important it is but it doesn’t matter who we are up against, picking up three points is just as important.

“It’s always easier when you are winning games, everyone is much happier but we don’t want to get too complacent.

“We’ve got the feeling of winning again and we just want to keep it going as long as possible.

“Since I have been here I’ve been used to winning and we have always been up there. It’s a new league and we knew it would be difficult so the boys, staff and club collectively are more relieved that we’ve finally done it, two back-to-back away performances and obviously we’re chuffed.”
