FOREST GREEN'S Reece Brown has made the shortlist for Checkatrade Trophy player of the round.

Following the completion of the second round of fixtures in the group stages of the Checkatrade Trophy, the shortlist for the Player of the Round competition has been revealed with Reece Brown making the final five. A threat throughout the game and tireless in his running, the midfielder capped a tenacious display against Gloucestershire rivals Cheltenham Town by driving home a low equaliser in the 79th minute which turned the tie in Rovers’ favour.

This week’s conclusion of the second round of fixtures saw a number of standout performances, including the second consecutive 4-3 thriller involving AFC Wimbledon, this time beating Tottenham Hotspur U21s. Portsmouth, Shrewsbury Town and Wigan Athletic also impressed with comprehensive home wins.
