FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper is dreaming of  catching a big fish in the FA Cup third round.

After watching his in-form side beat National League Macclesfield 1-0 on Saturday, Rovers are now 90 minutes from a potential glamour game against Premier League opposition.

Rovers will be ball number nine in Monday night’s draw and Cooper is looking forward to seeing who his side will face in the second round.

Cooper said: “I think we want an opportunity or a realistic chance to get into the third round.

"The FA Cup is really important to a club like ours because of the opportunity it gives us to raise our profile.

"When we won promotion and made it into the Football League, the media attention was incredible.

"We are one more win away from the third round and that is what we need to be aiming for.

"I'd like to get a home draw against a non-league side, something that gives us a realistic opportunity of going on and making the third round.

"A tie against a Premier League side is potentially there for us and that would make a massive financial difference for the club, rather than us having to rely on the chairman's money all the time."

Cooper was delighted to see his side win for the fourth time on the spin and make it into the draw.

Cooper said: "I'm pleased to be in the hat. When you look around and see some of the other results, you realise it is all about getting through. We are through and a team down the road (Cheltenham) are not. We've gone from conceding a lot of goals to keeping three clean sheets in four games.”

“We saw the game out quite comfortably, the goalkeeper (Brad Collins) was very aggressive off his line and we defended well. Some of the football was quite good against a good Macclesfield team.”

Rovers should have wrapped the game up on 75 minutes. Reece Brown and Doidge combined to set substitute Omar Bugiel up, but he contrived to skew wide with just Shwan Jalal to beat.

Cooper added: “We couldn't get the second goal to kill it off and you always have that doubt in the back of your mind at 1-0. But I thought we looked solid and we saw the game out."
