Stonehouse Town 3-2 Kingswood

STONEHOUSE Town booked their place in the cup semi-final when they beat Kingswood on Saturday.

The match was a close affair and it took until the 34th minute for Luke Soule to turn in Andy Maryon’s cross to give the home side the lead.

Kingswood keeper Chris Fox then did exceptionally well to keep the score to 1-0 saving shots from Liam Gale, Lee Keveren, Maryon and Lewis Fogg before the break.

Early in the second half Kingswood drew level, the ball falling nicely in the box for Tom Devine to prod home.

Within a minute the home side retook the lead from a great free kick by Fogg that curled right onto the head of Luke Barstow who headed home.

Five minutes later it was 3-1, as a cross from Gale found Soule who was brought down in the box and was awarded a penalty.

Adam Ireland took the kick but it was saved by Fox, however, the ball went straight back to Ireland who drove it home.

Devine had a great chance to reduce the arrears on 65 minutes but made up for his miss a couple of minutes later to make it 3-2, which is how it stayed.
