Stroud and District Division One: At the halfway point of the season and it couldn’t be closer at the top of division one.

It was fitting that the two sides on equal points at the top played each other and shared the points in a 5-5 draw.

Abu Salehbhai was man-of-the-match as he scored a maximum for Frampton A against the visiting Woodchester A, the division could be very interesting if this form is kept up.

At the other end of the division Phoenix B picked up seven valuable points against Cirencester who could only field two players, Liwu Wei top scored for the home side going unbeaten in singles.

Thornbury A also won seven three when they entertained Frampton B, Len Vowles was man-of-the- match scoring a maximum for the home team.

Division 2: Although not playing due to the bad weather Thornbury B remain at the top of the division by one point and with a game in hand.

Their closest rivals, Frampton C, were held to a 5-5 draw at Woodchester C. John Bunn was man-of-the- match winning all his singles for the home team.

Steve Greening scored a maximum for Whiteshill A as they beat the visiting Phoenix C 6-4. Phoenix D entertained Whiteshill B and with their two youngsters on form they beat the visitors 7-3, Sam McIvor and Jon Ramsbotham each scored maximums for the home side.

Division 3: Another close division with Thornbury C just one point clear at the top after being held at home by Randwick C to a 5-5 draw with Graham Eden scoring a maximum for the home side and picking up the man-of-the-match gong.

Nailsworth A are just one point off the lead after dispatching Phoenix F 9-1 thanks to maximums from Dave Pugh and Jane Leigh.

Woodchester D helped themselves to a 6-4 victory against Whiteshill C with Colin Bruton going unbeaten for the hosts. Forest Green C found their visiting opponents from Randwick D too strong as they lost 1-9, William Snell and Tom Docherty both unbeaten.

Division 4: Cam & Dursley B didn’t play this week but still stay 17 points clear at the top of the division.

Phoenix H stay in third place after an unbeaten Edward Loader helped his side to a 6-4 victory over the two players from Nailsworth C.

Cam & Dursley C went down 4-6 at home to Forest Green D and it was the visitors Fritz Curzon who was man-of-the-match with a maximum.

Nailsworth B lost by a similar score when they entertained Phoenix I, Ricardo Pereira retuned a man-of-the-match performance winning three singles for the visitors. Frampton D whitewashed the visiting Thornbury D as Glan Watkins, Len Agg and Ben Harris all went unbeaten.
