FOREST GREEN manager Mark Cooper is confident he will keep his crown jewels, but expects to go shopping in the January sales.

Transfer speculation has seen Charlie Cooper linked with a move to Middlesbrough, but Cooper has yet to see a single bid for any of his squad.

Cooper said: "I have not had no phone calls about any of our players and I'm pretty certain we won't be selling anybody who is instrumental in making us stay in the league."

Bottom of the Football League and missing midfield kingpin Isaiah Osbourne, Cooper is keen to get down to business as he looks to bolster his squad.

Cooper added: "Make no bones about it, we have to be active, but recruitment becomes harder because players are not too sure about moving to a club that are sat at the bottom of the league, so we have to be clever with our recruitment. We might spend a little bit to get the right players in."

Rovers' boss sat down with SNJ sports editor Ash Loveridge and BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Paul Furley at the pre-match press conference ahead of Forest Green's League Two clash at home to Carlisle on Saturday.
