GOALKEEPER Sara Price was bombarded from the first whistle and she saved shot-after-shot.

Not to be outdone, Kathy Williams, playing out of position as LB, also pushed a Blockley shot off the line. Sophie Payne’s tackling skills were exemplary and she, with Tabitha Dickson, were voted players of the match.

The Stroud defence were under relentless attack, whilst Anne Narbour, Hannah Scott and Sarah Scott surged forward to find the goal.

Stroud Ladies’ 2nds................................ 2 Gloucester............................................ 1

STROUD dominated the game with wave-upon-wave of attacks.

That is until Emily Jones managed to find the back of the net, 15 minutes into the game from a front of goal scuffle.

Gloucester pushed back and with a fortunate spin of a ball that looked like it was going wide, made the score 1-1.

Stroud responded and despite winning numerous short corners, could not change the scoreline. Mopsy Voss’ short corner goal was disallowed just before half-time. Stroud reformed in the second-half and won a short corner in the first five minutes.

This time Amy Lloyd-Jones converted Voss’ pass at the top of D, to give Stroud a 2-1 victory.

Elsewhere, Stroud men beat Ross-On-Wye by six goals to four.
