Farrend Rawson says he and his teammates cannot wait to walkover the white line at Whaddon Road this afternoon when they take on Cheltenham Town.

Despite last weeks’ setback at Barnet, the central defender says there is no hangover from that result and attentions have quickly turned to today’s derby.

Having not been at the club when the two sides met earlier in the season, the 21-year-old is excited to be involved and wants to get at their hosts from the off.

He told the club website: “The mood in training has been really good, really positive. The boys have all been buzzing, we’ve all been looking forward to it. It’s a derby and we know what comes with derbies,” he said.

"Everyone is just working really hard in training, putting everything into it and getting ourselves fully ready and fully fit mentally and physically for the game.

"Myself personally, and the team and the management, we don't look behind. We look forward and to the teams and players we are playing against next and we plan ahead and put 100 per cent into training.

"We've all got a game plan, we all back ourselves, we know what we get from everyone and we're just pushing forward and looking forward to the kick-off and having a quick start.

"All of us, we all want to play in the big games, it's a derby, it's another good opportunity for us to display what we can do as a team."

Rawson is anticipating a stern test when they take on the Robins who have just one defeat in their last four home outings.

However, he is more than confident that if they perform to their ability Rovers can come away with something from the game and says everyone is united in achieving the same aim.

"Cheltenham are a good side and have shown that they have qualities and we've been looking at their qualities and now it's down to us putting our game plan in and our own tactics and getting the job done,” he added.

"Everyone has everyone's back, everyone is in it for the cause and we're all driving for the same thing. We all want the same thing, not just for us or the management but for the fans and the club, the club deserves it."

At this stage of the season, both the management and players are being asked how many points they need to secure safety in League Two.

But Rawson says that the players are not looking at that and knows if they put in the performance they are capable of then the league table will take care of itself.

"We're not concentrating on (the number of wins needed),” he explained.

“We feel like we're in a great position now, we're working on things, our game is coming together and it's just a matter of time."
