Forest Green midfielder Charlie Cooper has joined Newport County on a season-long loan deal.
The 21-year-old joined Rovers on a free transfer last summer, having spent the second half of the 16/17 season on loan at the club from Birmingham City.
He’s made a total of 55 appearances for Rovers so far and played a key part in the club’s promotion winning season in the National League.
Exiles boss Michael Flynn said: “Charlie is a young, hungry, and tenacious player. He’s good technically and will fit in to the club’s philosophy.
“He’s at a very good age and already has a promotion under his belt as he contributed to Forest Green Rovers promotion to the Football League in 2017.”
FGR boss Mark Cooper said: “Charlie is a young lad, he’s still only 21 and we think this will be a really positive move for him and that he’ll be able to thrive at Rodney Parade.”
