WILL HAWES is being tracked by a raft of clubs after leaving Shortwood United.

The Gloucester-based 25 year-old striker or No10, a research case manager for a fraud investigation company, is being targeted by manargless Slimbridge and Paulton Rovers after bagging 11 goals for the Nailsworth side last term.

His former club are facing a rebuilding job under recently installed boss Adam Paul, with the club preparing for their first foray in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division after resigning from the Southern League, a decision which prompted Hawes’ desire to move on.

“Shortwood are a great club to be fair and I think most of the team would have stayed if the club had remained in the Southern League, but I want to continue progressing up the leagues and I felt it was time to move on,” said Hawes, who first joined the Meadowbank club in 2012 before moving to Australia in 2014 and then returning to the Nailsworth club two years ago.

In his youth days, Hawes cut his footballing teeth at Frampton & Wanswell.
