Mark Cooper was full of praise for midfielder Reece Brown who put in a man of the match display against Bristol Rovers.
Brown was playing in a deeper midfield role alongside Carl Winchester and Lloyd James. Cooper was impressed with the 22-year-old and believes he’s a good fit in that deeper role.
“Reece is a tremendous technician,” said Cooper. “He was outstanding. There’s no reason why he can’t play there, he’s played there for Birmingham City on numerous occasions.”
The Rovers was delighted with the team’s overall performance and feels they’re now in a strong position ahead of the new campaign.
“I’m quite pleased, I thought we played well first half,” he said. “We took the ball a lot and had a lot of possession, scored a goal and managed the game after that. We would have liked to attack more but we were playing a big League One team.”
“We now need to make sure the squad is full, everybody fit and back in contention and hopefully bring in one more addition.”
Rovers play Hereford FC at Edgar Street tonight at 7.45pm.
