A highly rated Judo start has been selected to represent Britain at the 2018 Junior European Judo Championships.
Harry Lovell-Hewitt, from Stroud, will be heading to Sofia, Bulgaria for the competition which takes place between September 13-16.
Stroud Judo Club’s Harry Lovell-Hewitt has been selected for the 2018 Junior (U21) European Judo Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria from 13 – 16 September.
Lovell-Hewitt will be making his debut at the Junior Europeans next month and he is part of a nine-strong team selected by British Judo for the under 21s tournament.
The -90kg judoka moved up to his current weight category in 2017 where he went on to win the Junior British Championships at the higher weight last year.
In 2018 Lovell-Hewitt has continued to progress with gold medals at the Lignano Junior European Cup and Danish Junior Open as well as silver at the Coimbra and Kaunas Junior European Cups.
His performances has seen him move into the top ten at his weight in the IJF Junior World Rankings.
Lovell-Hewitt will fight on the third day of competition in Sofia, Saturday, September 15.
