FOREST Green Rovers travel to Gigg Lane to face Bury tomorrow looking to continue their unbeaten start to season.

Mark Cooper's side head to Greater Manchester full of confidence to face another of the relegated sides from League One.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the first ever meeting between the two sides.

TEAM NEWS

Everyone is fit to play for Forest Green. Mark Cooper made eight changes for the game at Swindon Town in the Carabao Cup so some of the regular's who sat out on Tuesday may come back in.

As for Bury, they brought in Jamie Barjonas on loan from Rangers this week and could make his debut.

FORM GUIDE

Forest Green are unbeaten so far this season. They've collected four points from two games in the league and progressed to the second round of the Carabao Cup.

They have won both games away from home so far this season and are yet to concede a goal from open play.

Bury have had a mixed start to the 2018/19 campaign. They began with a solid 1-0 home win against Yeovil Town before they losing to MK Dons in their second match.

They then took Nottingham Forest all the way to penalties, conceding a 90th minute equaliser, but lost the subsequent shoot out.

OPPOSITION

Bury looked for so long like they were going to claim a huge scalp by beating Forest but it wasn't to be. Manager Ryan Lowe will have to pick up his troops and get them going again ahead of Saturday's game.

Lowe took charge at Gigg Lane back in January when Chris Lucketti was dismissed. He couldn't save Bury from relegation who had a dismal season last year, finishing rock bottom of League One and 15 points a drift of safety.

It was a busy summer at Gigg Lane as Lowe revamped the squad. In came the likes of Chris Dagnall from Crewe Alexandra, Byron Moore from Bristol Rovers and a familiar face for Forest Green fans in Chris Stokes, who joined from Coventry City.

They did lose their brightest young prospect Callum Styles. The attacking midfielder joined League One club Barnsley but the good news for the Shakers is that he instantly re-joined Bury on loan.

Bury did manage to maintain plenty of experienced, quality players. Jermaine Beckford has great scoring pedigree and will certainly be a threat in League Two. They also have Jay O'Shea who is a clever footballer and Neil Adams, Stephen Dawson and keeper Joe Murphy provide real experience and leadership qualities which gives Bury a nicely balanced team.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Mark Cooper: "I'm clear in my mind what I was doing before Swindon and I'm clear in my mind what I'm going to do Saturday. Some players got themselves closer to the team some didn't.

"We know we can go to difficult places like Swindon and know we can get a result so it's important you have a good squad. You can't always play well and dominate the game. You have to respect other teams have good players and you have to roll your sleeves up and defend.

"I think 7,8,9 games is a run, we're very early and in the second week so a long way to go yet.

"I've watched Bury games, they were very unlucky against MK Dons, they could have easily go through against Nottingham Forest. I like the way they play and Ryan Lowe play's three centre backs, play possession football and dominate the play and they're good at it so it'll be a tough ask."

Ryan Lowe: "Coops (Mark Cooper) will have them playing the right way, they’ve had some good results. He’ll have them fired up, they’ve got some decent players and made some good signings.

"We know what they’ll be about so our attention now turns to Forest Green and we want to implement what we’ve done on Saturday gone (against Mk Dons) and tonight and bring it to fruition on Saturday."

SNJ VERDICT

This is probably Rovers' toughest fixture of the season so far on paper. They face another newly relegated side, another from Greater Manchester as well.

It's been almost perfect from Forest Green so far, but for a dubiously disallowed goal against Oldham last weekend we'd be talking about a 100% start to the season in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Cooper proved his team can adapt with their dogged display at Swindon while he also knew that those player who haven't quite been getting in the first XI can be relied upon when needed, as evident on Tuesday.

Bury will be resolute, as they were for so long against Forest in the Carabao Cup. They're a footballing side and have a lot of experience so they'll certainly provide a stern test to Coopers side.

Prediction: Bury 1-1 Forest Green
