Forest Green Rovers were denied three points as Will Aimson scored in the 90th minute against 10 man Rovers.

Christian Doidge scored his third goal of the season in the first half where Forest Green impressed.

Bury put Rovers under pressure in the second half and the game swung in their favour when Gavin Gunning was sent off with 15 minutes to go.

Mark Cooper made eight changes from the team that beat Swindon Town 1-0 in the Carabao Cup, putting back the same eight players in who relinquished their place.

It meant that Cooper stuck with the same team in the league for three consecutive games.

Bury made a lively start to the game and came close early on when Danny Mayor skipped through the Rovers defence and fed it to Dominic Telford who went round Robert Sanchez but he could only find a Rovers shirt with his cross.

There was another shaky moment when a poor back pass from Farrend Rawson forced Sanchez to kick the ball off Telford but they managed to recover and found themselves on the counter attack.

Christian Doidge then drove into the area and fired in a low cross-shot which was just turned behind by Will Aimson who collided with the post.

Rovers then gained control and it wasn't long until Doidge found the net. Lloyd James found Carl Winchester who played a delicious ball into the area and the striker towered in a header from close range.

Forest Green then had to defend to preserve their lead but Bury didn't test Sanchez as Rovers were getting crucial blocks and interceptions in and went into half time with the lead.

Bury started the second half strongly with Danny Mayor pulling the strings for the hosts. They didn't test Sanchez and the back four continued to withstand the pressure.

Forest Green looked comfortable despite Bury's pressure but with around 15 minutes to go, there was a game changer as Gunning was sent off.

Gold Omotayo just managed to nip in front and he had a free run on goal and Gunning was forced to into te foul and he was given a second yellow, having been booked in the first half.

Rovers continued to defend brilliantly and it looked like they were going to see it out until Bury got a corner on the 90th minute. Corner came in and the ball fell to Neil Danns in the area who shot was parried away heroicly by Sanchez but Aimson reacted quickly and hooked the ball into the bottom corner from a tight angle.

The host had their tails up and it was a real backs against the wall job for Cooper's men throughout stoppage time but they managed to at least hold on for a point.

Rovers are still unbeaten in four games this season. A point before the game would have been deemed as a good result.
