Forest Green Rovers will donate £6,500 to Nailsworth Primary School as a thank you to the school for offering additional parking spaces for matchdays at The New Lawn.

The money raised has come from park and ride schemes that operated from the premises of local businesses Renishaw and Cotswold Green on key matchdays throughout the 2017-2018 season.

Forest Green General Manager, Dane Vince, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to both Renishaw and Cotswold Green, helping us to not only deliver a successful matchday, but also to minimise the impact on the local area and raise funds for Nailsworth Primary School. I know that the money raised will be much appreciated and will be put to very good use”.

Nailsworth Primary School Head Teacher, Vince Southcott, added: “We are developing an even stronger relationship with Forest Green that is not only helping the club and school, but also helping to minimise the impact on the local community.

“To receive over £6,500 is an incredible amount and it will be used for converting an old changing room into a children’s fitness gym and furnishing it with training bikes. The room will house 15 Concept rowing machines and the training bikes, allowing the school children and their families to enjoy keeping fit and healthy.

“We’re looking forward to a great season for FGR and great academic year for school.”
