Painswick 85
Gloucester All Blues 0
PAINSWICK started their campaign in Gloucestershire Division 2 north with an impressive win over Gloucester All Blues.
The Painswick forwards dominated possession with lock Callum Abbott impressing with his agile lineout skills, veteran Russell Thornton using his pace from no.8 and front row men Harry Debieux, and Tomec Gacek carrying strongly to allow the strong running backs to display their full range of skills.
James Harber was a constant threat at centre and the Longuet-Higgins brothers showed good pace to tear apart the Blues defence. The highlight of the 13 tries was a superb catch in the air, between three defenders, and run in for a try under the posts from Neil Churchill. Painswick are now looking forward to the challenge of the local derby at Minchinhampton on September 29.
