FOREST Green Rovers midfielder Lloyd James feels Rovers have been a bit unlucky in some of their home games so far this season.

Mark Cooper's side have drawn all of their home league games so far and will be looking for their first home league win against Crawley Town on Saturday.

James is hoping Rovers can kill teams off at home but has believes they also need a bit of good fortune to get their league victory at the New Lawn.

"I'd like to say a little bit unlucky," Said James. "A few of the keepers that have come down to the New Lawn have probably had their best performances of the season.

"A few decisions have gone against us too so a bit of luck really but the performances are there for everyone to see and fans will have no complaints with the performances at home but it's points that matter so hopefully we get all three on Saturday

"We're looking forward to it, after a positive result over the weekend we're hoping to push on."

Rovers earned a credible draw at also unbeaten MK Dons. Forest Green dominated the first half and perhaps should have taken all three points but James explained how coming from behind and still being unhappy with a draw at Stadium MK shows where the team are at currently.

"We were disappointed not to get all three points to be honest but I think that shows how far we've come in such a short space of time  that we're disappointed with a point away at MK Dons.

"We showed a different kind of characteristic, being behind and coming behind to turn it into a draw it shows character and a never say die attitude."

The 30-year-old has hit the ground running for Rovers and has settled in nicely alongside Carl Winchester and Reece Brown in midfield. He's really enjoying his role in midfield but is wary of the fierce competition in that area.

"I think we've bonded really well the midfield three," added James. "We've also got Matt Worthington who's come in from Bournmeouth, he's a very good player and Paul Digby can play there so we've got a good squad and I think it keeps you on your toes to perform.

"I know it's a cliche but it's the truth because if you're not performing there are players in the wings who can come in if you're not putting 10/10 every week."

"It's been a good start and I've really enjoyed it but it's only a start and hopefully we can maintain it and pick up a few more wins other than draws.
