IN the SDCA Surridge Premier League, Tim Phillips hit 109 and Jer Perrins 70 as Eastcombe made 261 all out at Uley.

Uley were 132-7 in replying thus denying Eastcombe full points.

Meanwhile, Frocester IV produced an improved batting performance hitting 157-8 against Cranham but Steve Walden, who had earlier than 4-35, then hit 74 not out to see Cranham home by seven wickets.

Match of the day was at Hardwicke. Mark Medland took 6-40 as Minchinhampton posted 165. Ady Pierce then hit 70 but Hardwicke finished agonisingly close on 164-9 to lose by one run. Jason King (84*) and Nick Green (77*) combined to post a daunting 231-2 as Bisley hit batting form and Woodchester in reply could only reach 174-7.

Another close game at Whitminster where the home side crept to 124-8. Hawkesbury squeaked home by two wickets despite a fine 5-22 from L Medcroft.

In Division One , a sparkling 60 not out from Jeff Chandra saw Slimbridge to their total of 139-8 as they overtook Rockhampton III's 135-9.

Two other close games in Div One as Leonard Stanley edged to a one wicket victory over Wickwar who had posted 98 all out. Stone III had recorded a useful 165-2 against Stroud III with T Merrick top-scoring on 71. Despite 68 from Dave Moore, 6-36 from S Andrews meant that Stroud III finished 8 runs short.

Uley II's Simon Opher was the star in the Division Two game against Painswick III.He decimated the Painswick III batting with 5-13 including a hat trick. Painswick III succumbed to 66 all out and Uley II closed to a shock victory by seven wickets.
