Stroud & District Athletic Club are launching a beginner runners group. The group will be lead by Stroud AC members, Graeme Naysmith, Andy Furley, Chris Jurevicius and Sharon Stevenson, who are now UK Athletics qualified.

The group will focus on teaching beginner runners of all ages and abilities to run up to 5k continuously in a fun and non-pressurised environment.

Stroud & District Athletic Club is a local, friendly and professional club based at Archway School sports hall meeting on a Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm.

The club boasts a membership of approximately 350 members, covering an age range from 8 to over 80, and all athletic disciplines and abilities. Next year is the club's 30th year offering athletics to the entire community.

The club operates a simple membership policy of a one-off payment paid either at the start of the membership year, or approximately three weeks after you start attending the club. The club also has multiple senior groups that cover a wide range of running disciplines from fell/off road running to cross country and road racing, with a range of speeds and stamina to satisfy most requirements. Athletes with a reasonable level of fitness or ability are able to join the senior groups directly and can move around the various groups as required.

Membership prices: Family: £25 per annum (£2.08/month), Adult: £20 per annum (£1.67/month), Junior/student/over 65: £12 per annum (£1/month).
