Stroud League Division One Minchinhampton RDS 4 Longlevens Reserves 0 MINCH RDS face County League King's Stanley in the final of the Arthur Shipway cup final at Shortwood's Meadowbank on Sunday (3pm), kept up their Stroud League promotion push with a convincing 4-0 victory over Longlevens.
Minch RDS took the lead when James Clarke played a delightful through ball to play in Ryan Preddy and he curled a great shot past the keeper from the edge of the box.
A second was added minutes later when Paul Day and Jon Ind combined down the left to set Preddy free and his cross was crisply tucked away by Des Humphreys.
Late on in the half Minch RDS scored again when Clarke broke from deep and set Mike Scott free on the counter attack, he broke through several challenges before crossing to the back post where Ind powerfully headed home from close range.
Minch RDS took their foot off the pedal, but did manage a fourth goal midway through the second half when neat interplay between Humphreys and Preddy ended with the latter tucking in a simple chance from close range.
Minch RDS star man: Ryan Preddy.
