HORSLEY started the new year off in fine fashion with a hard-fought victory over local rivals Minchinhampton RDS.
It was the home side who took the lead after 28 minutes when a long throw from Tommy Pugh was flicked on by captain Jamie Osman for strike partner Paul Salisbury to finish of at the back post.
Horsley just edged the first half, but it was Minch who started the second half on top and drew level on 60 minutes when a Minch defender scored with a good header at the back post following a corner kick.
With both teams now pushing for the victory it was Horsley who won the game in the 80th minute when a strong run and pass from Mike Green found Dean Grove who scored with a great finish from a tight angle.
Star Player: Lloyd Green.
