PETER Buxton will skipper Gloucester as they head to northern Italy to take on Femi-CZ Rovigo in round five of the Amlin Challenge Cup on Saturday afternoon.

It’s a line up that sees several changes from the side that started against the Exeter Chiefs last weekend as Gloucester seek to complete a home and away double against the Italian side.

In the back line, Henry Trinder and Tim Molenaar form a new centre partnership and Lesley Vainikolo and Dave Lewis return to the starting line up.

In the pack, only Paul Doran-Jones, Peter Buxton, Will James and Andy Hazell retain their places with Buxton moving into the second row from the blindside flank.

Gloucester scored 14 tries in a 90-7 victory over Rovigo back in October but head coach Bryan Redpath insists that there will be no complacency on Saturday.

“We’ve got a job to do and we’ve got to get five points in Rovigo. We have to be aware of any kind of complacency and the focus this week has been on our mental approach.

“Our away form has been well documented. You’ve got to get that mentality right. The key thing is the individual and we have to make sure that individually we’re mentally strong.

“We have to stick to our structure and do everything at 110%. It’s about physicality and it’s about the basics and execution. It’s as simple as that.”
