THE Gary Neville Allstar X1 match at the New Lawn remains on course despite Neville’s appointment to the England coaching staff.
Forest Green chairman Dale Vince confirmed the game will go ahead and is set to take place in early August.
The showpiece contest will also feature former Spurs and Newcastle star David Ginola.
Vince believes the former Manchester United captain will blossom alongside new England boss Roy Hodgson at next month’s Euro 2012.
He added: ‘I was really chuffed for him when I heard the news - and for England too, I think he’ll do a great job.”
Vince and Neville teamed up last May to form Sustainability In Sport, with the aim of taking the eco message into the world of sport.
The duo came together through a shared passion for both football and green issues, with an ambition to make football and other sports more environmentally aware.
