FOREST Green’s midfield duo Kieron Forbes and Yan Klukowski have penned contract extensions.

Klukowski,25, is understood to have turned down interest from a League Two side and a rival Blue Square Premier outfit to remain at the New Lawn.

The Chippenham-born attacking midfield man struck 18 goals last season and has agreed to extend his deal to the end of the 2013/14 season.

Forbes, 21, who recently returned from non-league England duty in Russia, is now contracted until the end of the 2014/15 season. “This is big news for Forest Green,” said Rovers boss David Hockaday. “Yan and Kieron were massive for us last season, and will continue to be important players as we look towards the Football League. “This club has got big ambitions, and that means hanging on to your best players as well as bringing in quality additions to the team.”
