ON LOAN: Chris Todd has joined Hereford on a one-month loan deal
DEFENDER Chris Todd has joined Hereford United on a one-month loan deal to gain match time.
Despite central defensive stalwart Eddie Oshodi picking up a two-match ban for a red card after the final whistle against Wrexham at the weekend, the return of defenders Jared Hodgkiss and Paul Green from injury, plus the arrival of the impressive Aarran Racine, meant manager David Hockaday was still able to grant Todd a loan move.
Hockaday said: “We’ve got Paul Green fit again and Aarran Racine has shown what he can do.
“We’ve got plenty of cover - most clubs don’t have five centre halves. Plus, Collins, Asafu-Adjaye and Stokes can all play centre- half.
“Toddy needs to play games, it is no good him sitting on the bench, he needs matches.”
Two niggling injuries picked up during the early part of the season pushed Todd down the pecking order at The New Lawn, but the now fully-fit Welshmen is looking for games to push his way back into the side.
Todd signed for Rovers in May 2011, arriving from Newport County, and will now hook up with club-mate Phil Marsh, who scored on his debut of a three month loan deal with Hereford against Stockport County on Saturday.
Rovers travel to Mansfield Town on Saturday, 3pm.
