Alejandro Gomez helped Atalanta make a flying start to their Serie A campaign with two goals and two assists in a 4-0 home victory over promoted Frosinone.

Argentinian forward Gomez needed only 14 minutes to open the scoring, drifting into a good position to connect with Rafael Toloi’s pass and sending the ball beyond former Nerazzurri keeper Marco Sportiello.

Hans Hateboer doubled Atalanta’s lead three minutes after the break when turning home a Gomez assist. It was 3-0 when Gomez picked out Mario Pasalic for a shot that left Sportiello with no chance.

Gomez capped a fine individual performance with a stoppage-time fourth for Atalanta, bagging his brace thanks to a slight deflection from a Frosinone player after meeting a cross from Andrea Masiello.
