A STONEHOUSE company and its director have been fined for illegal roadside adverts.
David Hudd, director of DJH Flooring Ltd, failed to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 6, but in his absence was found guilty of two charges of displaying an advertisement without planning consent.
Magistrates heard that in August last year Stroud District Council received reports of a small vehicle displaying a v-shaped advertisement of the company’s carpet and flooring warehouse, parked in a lay-by on the A38 in Eastington.
A planning officer visited the company address and informed Mr Hudd that the vehicle did not have planning permission and needed to be removed immediately.
The stationary vehicle was seen again on February 1, near Stonehouse Industrial estate, and on February 28 various adverts were seen on the roadside and attached to a wall on the A419 opposite Wycliffe College.
Mr Hudd was fined £250, plus costs of £175 and a £15 victim surcharge.
His company was also fined £250, plus costs of £175 and a £15 victim surcharge.
