WHEN Laurie Lee died in 1997, his wife Kathy and daughter Jessy discovered a folder hidden under his bed in his study. The author of Cider with Rosie, was not only a leading poet and writer it seems, but also a prolific artist, though his sketches and paintings remained hidden for decades.
The contents of the folder form part of a new exhibition, Laurie Lee: Poetry, Art and Landscape, due to open on Saturday at the Museum in the Park.
The show also includes The Art of Walking, new artwork created in response to walking, in Lee’s beloved Gloucestershire, and beyond.
The exhibition runs until October 5.
