AN EXHIBITION currently showing at Slimbridge Wetland Centre features artworks inspired by the birds that live there.

Wildlife artist Jane Holford Atkin, who works in scraperboard, graphite, oil, acrylic and watercolour, is showing her latest collection, which she created

after regularly sketching at the wildfowl centre.

Jane grew up in the Gloucestershire countryside, where a love of animals and birds developed. She attended Stroud High School from 1971 to 1979, where she learnt the illustrative technique of scraperboarding, one of her preferred mediums.

Jane's work has gone on to win several awards, including runner up in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year (British birds category) in 2010.

She found the late Sir Peter Scott (founder of Slimbridge Wetland Centre) to be a great inspiration.

Exhibition continues until November 17.
