A CONCERT of songs from the first two decades of the 20th century will be performed in Horsley this weekend.
In a show entitled The Light and the Dark, the Gloucester-based a capella group Chorus Felum will present a sample of Edwardian and WW1 songs, including several music-hall favourites of the period, contrasting the lightness of the Edwardian age with the darker elements of the war years.
The evening, which includes a guest appearance by talented 10-year-old violinist Hannah Brookes-Hughes, will take place at the 3 in 1 concert venue in St Martin's Church in Horsley at 7.30pm.
The concert is part of a series of monthly music and film events organised by 3 in 1 Arts @ Horsley, a group of Horsley residents. Funds from the event will be put towards additional facilities at the 3 in 1, which acts not only as a parish church, but also as an assembly hall for Horsley Primary School and a community-run performance venue.
